报告人简介:Jonathan F. Wendel是美国爱荷华州立大学生态学、进化生物学研究所的杰出教授。他致力于开花植物的基因组学及表型多样性的研究,特别是基因组加倍及多倍化的现象等。他已经发表的270多篇文章中的大多数有关于棉属的研究,系统地解释了两个二倍体和两个多倍体种属数千年的独立驯化的历史。这些自然进化的历史以及早期人类的数据为系统研究物种驯化的分子基础,以及自然进化史中物种基因组加倍的起源、多样化和影响等提供了一个框架模型。
