研究概述/Research Description

  杜波老师主要从事水稻抗褐飞虱基因的克隆与功能分析、水稻抗虫分子机理以及抗虫品种的培育和利用的研究。他在国际上成功克隆了第一个水稻抗褐飞虱基因,首次揭示了植物抗虫基因编码一个受体蛋白的本质。后续又克隆水稻抗褐飞虱基因Bph6,揭示了BPH6与胞泌复合体亚基互作调控水稻抗虫的分子机理。通过克隆抗褐飞虱基因、创制抗虫新种质、开发功能标记和建立抗虫鉴定方法,创建了水稻抗褐飞虱分子育种技术体系,并制定了湖北省地方标准——水稻抗褐飞虱抗性鉴定技术规程。近期,开始关注非编码RNA在水稻抗病虫中的功能研究。

     Dr. Du focuses on the research about the clone and function of insect resistance gene, resistance molecular mechanism, and breeding and utilization of resistant varieties in rice.  Dr. Du successfully cloned the first brown planthopper resistance gene in the world, and revealed the essence of a receptor protein encoding plant resistance gene.  Subsequently, he characterized the other insect resistance gene, Bph6, and elucidated the molecular mechanism, which interacted the subunit of exocyst complex to regulate resistance of rice.  Dr Du established the molecular breeding technology system for brown planthopper resistance in rice, and designed the technical specification for resistance to brown planthopper in rice, a local standard of Hubei Province through cloning the insect resistance genes, creating new germplasm, developing functional markers and establishing identification methods for insect resistance.   Recently, the attention of Dr Du has been paid to the function of non-coding RNA in rice resistance to disease and insect pests.
